If you were unable to attend the call-out meeting on Tuesday February 26th please see all of the information below that was distributed. This information is also posted in Google Classroom for students. The most important item discussed at this meeting was your deposit. Students must submit the commitment form along with a $50 deposit before Spring Break in order to reserve their spot in the show. Numbers will be sent to the drill writer shortly after Spring Break and only those students who have paid their $50 deposit will be guaranteed a spot in the show. Alternates will be chosen from those who did not pay their deposit on time.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me. Thanks! Mr. VanPatten
To fill out the commitment form and/or the drum major interest form, please go to your Google Classroom page, they are posted on the Classwork tab under the Marching Band 2019 section.

This week really took its toll on us and I am very proud of all of you for the work you put in already! A lot of you have questions about what to do with solo/ensemble and school being cancelled all week. Please read through this information and if you have any questions whatsoever please email me.
If you ARE going to perform I will be at school today from 2:00-4:00. If your instrument or music is at school you must come get it today. I will not be able to meet you at school tomorrow since I will be at Carroll all day. Also, if you would like to pick up your judge's copy from me at school during this time you may do so as well. If you don't get this from me today don't worry, I will have them with me tomorrow and I'll come around to your warmup and/or performance room to get it to you. Any students who would like some practice can also come in during this time, although my priority will be to work with the soloists that I am accompanying. If you go to solo/ensemble tomorrow with the intention of performing and you are missing your instrument, your copy of the music, your judge's copy of the music, or a member of your ensemble, you will be unable to perform. If any of these items are at school and you are unable to get there, reach out to someone else in your class and ask them to get it for you. If you are NOT going to perform If you decide you are not going to perform for any reason, please email me as soon as that decision is made. Again, your grade will not be effected if you choose not to perform. If you are in an ensemble, please communicate with all members of your ensemble before your final decision is made. All members of the ensemble must be in agreement before you contact me. If you have already emailed me then do not worry about this step. Once again, percussion ensembles will not be performing so there is no reason for any of you to meet at school tomorrow morning. If this was your only event you do not need to attend tomorrow, unless you would like to support other performers. Please email me at John.VanPatten@whitko.org if you have any questions at all, I will be checking throughout the day. Thank you all for being so patient and working through this mess!! |
