Here is the tentative itinerary for our show at Bluffton High School. Call time is 10:00 AM, performance at 5:14 PM. Again, finalized itineraries will always be published on Wednesday of a show week, this is simply to give you an idea of what our day will possibly look like.

Here is the schedule and the information for the Blueberry Festival Parade on Labor Day, Monday September 4th. If you know you will not be in attendance for the parade, or will be meeting us in Plymouth, please email me so I can stay on top of attendance and who I need to keep track of. Even if you've already spoken to me, please email me so I can stay organized. Thanks!! Mr. VanPatten
On Thursday August 31st we will be having an open meeting for our new uniform purchase. The meeting will be at 6:30 PM in the band room, and we will be joined by our drill writer and Stanbury uniform rep Pat Butler. All students and parents are welcome to come get information and have input on the uniform design.
We will be adding a regular Wednesday evening rehearsal beginning next week, August 30th, from 6:00-8:00 PM. We were going to start these regular rehearsals this week but we could not get enough schedules cleared, so we'll start them next week. We will be rehearsing Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00 each week for the rest of the season. I'd like to encourage parents to come out to rehearsal around 7:30 to meet and greet other parents, and stick around to watch the run through at 7:45. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding these rehearsals, thanks!
This is the final itinerary for Saturday's performance at Tipton High School for the ISSMA Summer Showcase. As I said before, I will send out a tentative itinerary as soon as I am able, but finalized itineraries will always be given out to students and posted on the internet on Wednesday of each show week. Please let me know if you have any questions about this upcoming performance. We are the first band off the line at the first show of the year, so we have a great opportunity to set the stage for the entire state this season! Let's make it a good one!
Throughout the season I am going to try to provide a tentative itinerary for each Saturday whenever I get the schedule from that particular contest. Again, this will be a tentative itinerary so that you can make plans in advance. Sometime during the week (most likely on Wednesdays) I will pass out a hard copy of the final itinerary, and I will also post it here, on Facebook, Google Classroom, and via email. Here is our tentative itinerary for August 19th, ISSMA Summer Showcase. Call time for students is 9:00 AM.
This is just a reminder that all orders and money for the coupon books are due by this Friday August 11th. Students will need to turn in all money (checks made out to Whitko Band) in an envelope. Students will also need to turn in a total number of books they will need to distribute. Thank you!
Attached is the information about the Pierceton parade tomorrow evening. Students should have gotten a copy of this schedule on their way home from the preview show tonight. The most important item to note is that transportation will not be available from Whitko to Pierceton. Students are responsible for their own transportation. Please feel free to email if you have any questions, thanks!
Coupon Book Fundraiser
Today the students stayed after rehearsal for an hour to kick off our coupon book fundraiser. We sold 75 books, which adds up to $750 profit already! We will be continuing this sale through August 11th (the first Friday of school). All money is due on Friday August 11th. I will then total up the number of books students have sold and have those ready for distribution on Monday August 14th. It will be the students' responsibility to ensure the books get to the people who ordered them. There are various prize incentives available to students selling different amounts of items, all of which are detailed on the information handed out tonight. Much of the profit from this fundraiser will be the first money we will put towards the new uniform purchase, so get out there and sell as many as you can! Wednesday - Town Hall Performance Tomorrow students will be entertaining a group of senior citizens at the South Whitley town hall. Information was distributed yesterday regarding this performance. This is just a reminder that students will need to bring their Whitko band shirt, jeans, marching shoes, and black socks to rehearsal tomorrow morning. Thursday - Preview Show At 5:00 PM on Thursday evening all are welcome to join us at the practice field for a preview of the 2017 production "Time Machine". If all goes well over the next two days we will be able to perform the entire production for those in attendance! Students will dress in casual rehearsal clothes since we will need performance clothes for Friday's parade as well as Wednesday's town hall performance. Friday - Pierceton Parade Friday evening is the Pierceton days parade. I will have a more detailed itinerary coming in the next two days. The most important thing to remember is that students will need to have a ride arranged to Pierceton Elementary where we are meeting for the parade. Mini buses will not be available for transportation from the high school to the elementary school. There's a lot going on over the next few days as we finish up an incredible band camp. Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions or need any clarification on anything. Thanks!! |
